DL Rampart Fury by Mesu Kasumai

I sort of have a love / hate relationship with the 80s. I’m too young to even be able to say I don’t remember them, yet at the same time my obsession with the internet and computers keeps bringing me back to them. I don’t really like the wet sound of 80s pop music, but it’s also when electronic music really started picking up.
Mesu Kasumai’s sound is distinctly 80s. Not just because of the hardware used (I honestly don’t know what it is), but because of the synthy Detroit techno arranged for maximum funk. Lo-fi, squelchy, and slightly gritty, complete with soaring arpeggios. Everything you need to get up and start grooving.
Belle Isle Raceway is pretty awesome, all of the tracks flow into each other, making for a seamless 20 minute techno jam. Turn it up, your neighbors will thank you.
