DL Osaka (Lovesoul Mix) by Wesi & Krii
Thought I’d hit you with a second dose of 10-year-old funk, this time from the house division Lab-909 of tracker group Rebound. We’ve got this deep house track by Wesi, remixed by Krii (aka Resound), released way back in November of 1999. Both of them have serious skills when it comes to making music, especially the funky kind.
Every time I hear this, I always think of a sunset on the ocean. The sun just touches the horizon, bathing the entire sky in orange, while endless waves gently lap up against the beach. The kind of place you can just chill.
This track uses Impluse Tracker’s filter feature very cleverly, giving everything a nice warm sound, particularly the guitar and organ samples. Combined with the syncopation of pretty much everything that isn’t the kick drum this leads to massive funk. We’re talking 90’s French house type funk here. Filter house!
Like Language Lab, Rebound is backed up on the Internet Archive, in .mp3 for easy access, and scene.org, for the sources. Get the original .it of this track for the best quality and smallest file size. Aren’t modules fun?
