In the past few days spring has charged into RIT completely out of nowhere. The temperature here is 20 degrees above the average, moving it from “frigid” to “pleasant”, complete with gentle winds, light clouds, and no rain. This calls for appropriately warm music.
Comfort Fit is an absolute master of slow, beat-heavy hip hop jams. His tracks are always more than they seem, with all kinds of complex production going into every aspect of them. I knew I wanted to feature a track from Forget and Remember (scene.org link) this week, and I wasn’t entirely sure which one to pick until I heard this one, with its warmth reflecting the late afternoon sun streaming through my window. When I heard those strings I knew I had to pick this one.
If you like this, do yourself a favor and listen to all of Forget and Remember. It’s a marvelous album, one that deserves to be listened to in its entirety if you have the chance. And if you still can’t get enough, check out Tokyo Dawn and their scene.org ftp directory.
