Hey there, xwd here. I like to find quiet places, curl up with my netbook, and randomly poke through the Internet Archive’s netlabel section. I’ll be covering Fridays.

Semi-randomly poking around websites looking for new music is often enjoyable, but when you find something wonderful, it makes the entire experience that much more worthwhile. This song by long-time tracker keith303 hit me when I was combing through Language Lab. It’s awesome. Spacey, jazzy, driving, relaxed, rhythmic, melodic, wonderful in every possible way. The way it constantly shifts, bringing something new in as soon as you get comfortable or completely changing altogether, always amazes me.

Whenever I play this track I need to play it more than once. There’s so much to hear in it, so many parts working together each doing their own intricate little thing. Yet at the same time, it doesn’t demand your attention. That’s part of its brilliance. You can give as much or as little attention as you want, and still enjoy it. Kick back, relax, and float through the atmosphere.

If you’ve got the software, you should grab the original .ogg file from scene.org or archive.org. Tumblr only supports .mp3, and you know how it is converting from lossy to lossy. Be sure to get the other track in the release from back in October of 2003, The Puzzle’s Last Piece by Kowloon, for more smooth jazzy trip hop goodness.
